 Now more than ever, Catholic Schools serve as a partner with parents in the formation of their children into young adults. Catholic Schools are an effective form of passing along our Catholic faith. Academic excellence, coupled with discipline and values, make Catholic Schools a unique treasure for the Church, as well as a force for good in today's society and for the entire Middle Tennessee region.
More than 15,000 students in 17 elementary, 2 high schools, and parish religious education programs, receive Catholic instruction. Tuition continues to increase as a result of operating costs, and, along with the worst recession in recent years, is making it extremely challenging for many families to provide their children with a Catholic education.
Currently only a few parishes are able to provide families with any form of tuition assistance. Creating an endowment will allow us to increase grant levels as well as be able to assist many more deserving students in our community, access to Catholic education. As an endowment, the corpus will be protected and only the income from this fund will be distributed as tuition support for deserving students, teacher development, and educational programs.
